The schedule has been announced, highlighted by Outdoor Game – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten released the full 2022-23 men’s hockey schedule on Monday, with each school taking on each of the other six programs in four games during the season.

A February series with Michigan highlights Ohio State’s schedule; The Buckeyes and Wolverines will meet at Value City Arena in Columbus on Feb. 16 and then travel north for an outdoor game, Faceoff on the Lake, at FirstEnergy Stadium, home of the Cleveland Browns, for a contest on February 18.

Ohio State will host two-game series with the other five teams and travel for two-game sets to each league city. The Buckeyes also have 10 pre-announced games on their schedule against non-conference foes, including home games against Bentley on Oct. 20-21 and a matchup in Columbus against Bowling Green on Dec. 17.

Times and streaming information will be released later for home and away games.

Buckeyes vs. Wolverines in Columbus and Outside in Cleveland

Ohio State will welcome Michigan to Value City Arena on Thursday, Feb. 16, and the teams will close out the series with an outdoor game, the Faceoff on the Lake, at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, hosted by the ‘Haslam Sports Group and the Cleveland Browns. Saturday, February 18. Both contests will be Big Ten Conference games.

Tickets for the Columbus game can be purchased at regular Ohio State outlets.

For the Cleveland, Ohio State game, season ticket holders will receive information about a special pre-sale opportunity.

Cleveland Browns and Columbus Crew season ticket members, along with Browns waitlist members and select groups, will have early access to Faceoff on the Lake tickets beginning at 10:00 a.m. on August 29 . Tickets go on sale to the public at 10am on September 7. This will be the Buckeyes’ fourth road game and second against Michigan in Cleveland. Ohio State and the Wolverines met at Progressive Field, home of the Cleveland Guardians, in January 2012. The Buckeyes also played in outdoor games against Wisconsin at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis., in February 2006 and Minnesota at TCF Bank. Minneapolis Stadium in January 2014.

A look at the Full Buckeye board

After opening the season at Mercyhurst on Oct. 1-2, Ohio State will begin Big Ten play with a home series against Wisconsin on Oct. 7-8. It follows a non-conference series at UConn before hosting back-to-back series in Columbus; the first is a non-conference matchup with Bentley on Oct. 20-21 before welcoming Big Ten foe Minnesota on Oct. 28-29.

The November slate begins with a road series at Michigan State on Nov. 10-11 and then two home games against Notre Dame on Nov. 18-19. The Buckeyes will face Long Island University on Thanksgiving weekend (Nov. 24-25) and play at Penn State the following week (Dec. 2-3) for the final B1G games of the 2022.

Next week off for the finals before the Buckeyes close out the first half of the schedule with a non-conference home-and-home series against Bowling Green. The teams will face off at Falcon’s home ice on December 16th and at Value City Arena on December 17th.

The Buckeyes will close out the regular season with seven straight Big Ten series. Ohio State will host Michigan State on Jan. 6-7 in the first game of 2023. Two B1G road series follow, as the Buckeyes play at Michigan on Jan. 13-14 and at Wisconsin on January 20 to 21.

Penn State comes to Columbus for a Feb. 3-4 series and Ohio State will travel to Notre Dame the following week for games on Feb. 10-11.

After games against the Wolverines in Columbus on Feb. 16 and Cleveland on Feb. 18, the regular season ends for Ohio State with a series at Minnesota on Feb. 24-25.

The Big Ten Tournament will again be played at campus sites. The quarterfinal series is scheduled for March 3-5, with the semifinals on March 11 and the final on March 18.
